Naby Keita leaves FC Red Bull Salzburg and joins RB Leipzig in the german bundesliga.
The 21-year-old midfielder from Guinea arrived in the summer of 2014 from French side FC Istres and took two league titles and cup wins with the Red Bulls. Last season Naby Keita was voted player of the year in the Austrian Bundesliga. In total he made 81 competitive appearances for Salzburg, scoring 20 goals.
Christoph Freund, head of football at FC Red Bull Salzburg, says on his departure:
We were always aware that Naby Keita could not be kept in Austria forever due to his great ability and strong performances, especially last season. Even if we regret his decision, we understand this as a logical next step in his career, and we wish Naby all the best. With our strong squad and the new signings of Munas Dabbur, Marc Rzatkowski and Fredrik Gulbrandsen, we still have the potential to recreate the successes of recent years and qualify for Europe.
