Brenden Aaronson features in Red Bulletin

with Haaland, Mane & Co – FC Red Bull Salzburg have been pursuing a successful transfer strategy for years. numerous highly talented youngsters have emerged as superstars at the austrian champions. the next 20-year-old hopeful really shows what these talents are made of.

There are plenty of ways to get out of tight positions in football. Many prefer sheer force or raw determination. Brenden Aaronson, FC Red Bull Salzburg's 20-year-old new signing and one of the biggest talents in US soccer, prefers to rely on his creative verve. He makes the art of elegantly spinning free of opponents, drifting into space and playing a killer pass look easy. Brenden confirms on the phone from his parents' house in Medford, New Jersey, "yeah I look for these one-on-one situations. I enjoy dribbling past opponents. Basically, playing football is so much fun for me. Getting a transfer to a top European club has allowed me to realise one of my biggest dreams in life." 2020 was a very good year for Brenden. In his second year in professional football, the attacking midfielder started all 26 league matches for Philadelphia Union. He led the team from Chester, Pennsylvania to win the regular season  – to take the Supporters Shield, the first trophy in club history. He became the youngest player ever to by voted by the MLS into its Best XI all-star team. In October he signed a contract with the Red Bulls until June 2025.
