Enock Mwepu moves to England

Midfielder joins Brighton

Enock Mwepu is leaving our Red Bulls for the Premier League and has signed a contract until 2025 with Brighton & Hove Albion. The 23-year-old Zambian came to Salzburg at the start of 2017 together with his compatriot Patson Daka from Kafue Celtic and played for around six months at our co-operation club FC Liefering. 23 matches in the Austrian second tier allowed him to establish himself in Austrian football before he made the leap to the first team, for whom he made a total of 119 appearances (18 goals and 20 assists), winning four league titles and three Austrian cups.

Danke, Enock!

Sporting director Christoph Freund:

Enock's development with us in recent years was very impressive. He has become a real key player over the years, who we can always rely on 100 percent. We will remember Enock, in addition for his incredible development as a footballer, great matches and successes with us, first and foremost as a great person and really jovial guy.  We are really pleased that our Computer will achieve his big aim of playing in the Premier League and we truly wish him all the very best!

Enock Mwepu:

I had a fantastic time here in Salzburg, learned a lot and developed well as a footballer in all areas. I think though that even more is possible. It is therefore time for me after four years to take the next step in my career and try to reach the next level. I am very grateful to everyone in the club and all the fans for this fantastic time, and I will always remember my time in Salzburg really fondly.
