match summary

After an intensive first week of training, our very young starting XI (21.4 years old on average) with four Liefering players made a bustling start without getting many opportunities in the opening stage against a polished second-division side from Amstetten. In the 8th minute, both Kameri and Adamu were denied by Amstetten keeper Affengruber at short range. In the 40th minute, 17-year-old Dijon Kameri had another good chance.

The second half was nothing but spectacular. After coming on as a substitute, Benjamin Sesko managed to smash four goals in within the space of nine minutes to put us well ahead! As if Matthias Jaissle's side had saved themselves in the first half, we were creating danger by the minute now (Adeyemi having two chances, Aaronson two and Sesko one). Maurits Kjaergaard made it 5-0 with a crisp drive from 11 metres out. Gaucho Nicolas Capaldo applied an equally cool finish to make it 6-0 at the end.

Matthias Jaissle:

We have some hard days of training behind us, as we started the preparation period with great intensity. The 6-0 win was a really good match today, and at first glance it looks great. The boys were very decent in the first half too, even if their efficiency was lacking a bit. We did well right in front of goal in the second half and got our reward.

Benjamin Sesko:

The most important thing is that we won our first friendly match and played well in it. That gives us a good feeling going into the hard weeks of training ahead. I am pleased about my four goals today. We all did well going forward in this phase, however, and I was in the right place at the right time to score the goals.
