The 20-year-old from Ghana came to Salzburg from his homeland in the 2021 winter break and began in the U18 side of the Red Bull Academy (five appearances and three goals) and played for our co-operation club FC Liefering (29 appearances, six goals and eight assists).

At the start of the 2021/22 season, Forson went on loan to SCR Altach (18 appearances, two goals and five assists) before he returned to our Red Bulls six months later. Our attacker has made 25 appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

It has been a really positive experience with Amankwah Forson so far, you can see that from his strong rate of development! He is a very talented footballer. We are convinced that he still has plenty of potential, which is why have extended his contract. We are looking forward to the years ahead with him.

Sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner

I am pleased to have the confidence of the club - also because I feel very happy here. The possibilities to further develop here are fantastic, and I would like to keep on making the most of those and help the team succeed.
