Contract with Amar Dedic extended

New deal until 2027

We have extended the contract of Amar Dedic until 30 June 2027. The 20-year-old Bosnian was one of the shooting stars of our team in the first half of the season. The defender made 20 appearances for our Red Bulls in the autumn, becoming a really dependable operator in all competitions for Matthias Jaissle's side.

Dedic arrived to Salzburg in 2015 and went through various age groups at the Red Bull Football Academy (winning three league titles). A total of 50 appearances at FC Liefering were followed by a year on loan at RZ Pellets WAC, before he returned to us last summer.

Amar developed as a footballer in our academy and progressed incredibly well. He showed that last season on loan in Wolfsberg. He was superb for us in the first half of the season, playing the full 90 minutes in all six Champions League matches, and taking the step up to perform consistently at this high level.

He doesn't only have a technically superb ability but is physically in great shape. I'm really pleased that we were able to agree a long-term extension, and I am certain that there is a lot more to come from him in the years ahead with his aims and attitude.

I am really pleased to have the faith of the club, and I am proud to have extended my contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg. The last six months have been crucial for that, and it is difficult for me to describe it all. Not only were the Champions League matches huge highlights for me, I'm delighted to have been so consistent in the league and to have remained free of injury.

This motivates me to keep working hard so that the successful autumn can be followed by an equally successful spring.
