After nine years: Dedic moves to Ligue 1

Transfer to Olympique Marseille

Amar Dedic is leaving after nine years with the Red Bulls - with a buyback clause - to top French side Olympique Marseille.

Taking the Salzburg Way to Ligue 1

The 22-year-old right-back has played since the age of 14 in Salzburg, where he developed through all the age groups of the Red Bull Football Academy (winning three titles).

He then made 50 appearances for FC Liefering (with two goals and five assists), before going on loan to WAC in the 2021/22 season on the way to making our first-team squad. In his 95 appearances, Amar Dedic scored eight goals and claimed 15 assists in helping to win a league title and a cup. The Bosnian international (with 16 caps) will now play for the side currently second in Ligue 1.

Amar told us a while ago of his desire to leave the club. We are all about helping talented players to careers on the highest stage, and we are continuing that approach here. We wish him all the very best on the pitch and off it for the future and in his new challenge in one of the top five leagues!

Rouven Schröder, Managing Director for Sport

I am very grateful to the club and all the people here in Salzburg for a formative time and for allowing me to take this step now. I think that moving to a club as big as Olympique Marseille is the perfect choice for me. I am really looking forward to showing what I can do in one of Europe's top leagues. I will always have a place in my heart for the memories from my time in Salzburg.
