The 22-year-old Austrian already has some major names in football on his CV. The tall central defender played in the youth ranks for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, among others, as well as briefly appearing for FC Liefering.

The first spell of first-team football for the Austrian international (who has played in all age groups from U15 to the full national team, whom he represented for the first time in a recent European qualifier v Estonia) came at OGC Nice in France's Ligue 1 (55 appearances). In summer 2022, Daniliuc moved to Italy, and has made 42 appearances for Salernitana so far.

Due to the injury of Samson Baidoo, we needed to recruit someone for the defence. In Flavius Daniliuc, a player who has a lot of experience already, despite his young age, is joining. He is also fully fit, having played in Serie A on Monday. We are sure he will be an important player for us.

Sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner

I am pleased about the transfer, and very pleased that I can play for FC Red Bull Salzburg. I would like to play as much as possible in the coming months and help the club to win honours. I want to help out and also show what I can do at EURO 2024, of course.
