After making a total of 597 competitive appearances in club and international football, and winning eight domestic titles, the curtain is finally coming down. Zlatko Junuzovic has ended his playing career. He will remain in Salzburg, however!
As assistant coach of our co-operation club FC Liefering, he will get the chance to gain his first experiences on the sidelines alongside the new head coach Fabio Ingolitsch and assistant Thomas Sageder.
I thought long and hard together with my family what the best for our future is. I came to the difficult decision to end my playing career, but I am excited about what is to come.
A decisive element was the opportunity to start to work as an assistant coach at FC Liefering and therefore remain in professional football. I have so many good experiences as a footballer and person here in Salzburg, that I really want to take the opportunity to continue my career in this environment. I am looking forward to the new chapter in my life.
