Clean sheet for Schlager and Gloukh locked in race to qualify

International update on our Red Bulls

The EURO 2024 qualifying campaign his finished perfectly for our nation! Austria took a superb 2-0 win against Estonia and might even claim first place in the group, depending on the result of Belgium v Azerbaijan on Sunday. Alex Schlager held onto a clean sheet in the latest victory.

A less successful day was had by the Bosnian national team featuring Amar Dedic against a strong Luxembourg side. Their hopes of qualifying directly for EURO 2024 were dashed by the 1-4 defeat, but they retain one last chance in the UEFA Nations League play-off in March 2024.

Israel and Serbia preserve qualifying chances

There is a big evening in store this Saturday (20:45 CET, DAZN) for Israel and Oscar Gloukh. They took a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in midweek, which means they have to win against Romania to retain any hope of qualifying for EURO 2024 from their group - with the Nations League play-off still a fall-back option.

Serbia might fancy their chances a bit more. They did lose a friendly 0-1 to Belgium at the start of the international window, but Strahinja Pavlovic put in another great performance. A win this Sunday against Bulgaria (15:00 CET on DAZN) would be enough to take them into next summer's finals in Germany.

Change of plan for one of our youngsters

Petar Ratkov is currently with the Serbia U21 national team ahead of a big European qualifier against England on Saturday. After the match, the 20-year-old striker will link up with his full national team.

In Ried at 18:30 CET today (live on ORF Sport +) there will be a clash between the Austria and French U21 sides with Lucas Gourna-Douath set for action.
