When we returned in training in Taxham on Monday, some of our Red Bulls were still in international action. Here is how they have got on in recent days:
- Several of our boys were involved in the Austrian U21 team. In the 1-0 friendly win against Latvia, Samson Baidoo started (as captain) along with Tim Trummer. Jannik Schuster came on in the second half as a substitute. Peter Perchtold's XI also took a 3-1 win against Hungary with Christian Zawieschitzky (from the 62nd minute) and Jannik Schuster (84') able to get some playing time.
- Oscar Gloukh helped the Israeli national team in World Cup qualifying to a 3-1 win against Estonia. He did not appear in the subsequent friendly match against Slovakia.
- Our youngster John Mellberg got to taste some full international experience! The 18-year-old from Sweden received his first call-up to his nation's big boys, but the defender remained on the bench.
- Aleksa Terzic started both of Serbia's World Cup qualifiers. There was a goalless draw against Albania and a 3-0 win against Andorra.
