Agreement reached: Matthias Jaissle leaves Red Bulls

35-year-old German to coach in Saudi-Arabia

Matthias Jaissle is leaving FC Red Bull Salzburg with immediate effect and has signed a contract with Saudi club Al-Ahli SFC.

The 35-year-old German worked as coach of our U18 academy team between 2019 and 2021 as well as a coach at FC Liefering, before he became head coach of our Red Bulls in 2021. Under his guidance, our side took two Austrian titles and a cup win - while also becoming the first Austrian club to ever make the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Assistants take charge during search for new coach

Our club is already holding discussions with possible successors to Jaissle. Until further notice, assistant coaches Florens Koch and Alexander Hauser will take temporary charge of the Red Bulls.

As Matthias Jaissle has now completed his move, we now need to find a new coach as quickly as possible that knows our playing style and can continue the Salzburg Way, which has been so successful up to now. While Matthias's time ended in a different manner to how we expected, we wish him all the best at his new club in Saudi Arabia and thank him for his work over the past two years!
