Our team will be back in action on the training pitch tomorrow (Friday). Taking charge of a training session in Taxham for the first time will be new coach Thomas Letsch. He will have a new assistant coach at his side with Kai Hesse, with Onur Cinel also assisting him.

Little time till UEFA Champions League

We have a much shorter and more compact preparation period than in previous years due to the UEFA Champions League pitting us against Madrid giants Real (away) and Atletico (home) – in the middle and end of January. We get back to business domestically at the start of February in the cup at LASK.

On the way back

Not yet on the pitch tomorrow will be the players recovering from injury: Fernando, Maurits Kjaergaard, Karim Konate and Kamil Piatkowski. Nicolas Capaldo, who suffered a muscle injury in the last match of 2024 against Klagenfurt, is still training individually.

Friendly match v Bayern

With such a quick resumption of the season, the winter break was much shorter for our players and staff - and we will have a shorter preparation period. This coming Monday (6 January at 18:00 in the Red Bull Arena) Schlager, Dedic, Bidstrup & Co have their first highlight when record German champions Bayern Munich visit for a big friendly. Some 23,000 tickets have already been sold.

Off to Portugal

Three days later, the team will fly via Frankfurt to a nine-day training camp in Faro, Portugal. Along with lots of intensive training session, there will be a friendly test against top Danish club FC Midtjylland (Wednesday 15 January at 14:00 CET, Estadio Algarve).

Introductory press conference

The official presentation of Thomas Letsch will take place in a press conference on Friday 3 January 2025 from 11:00 CET (live on RBS TV and Youtube).

The first training session of the year will then start at 14:00 CET in Taxham.
