Our football of tomorrow getting results today!

U15 tournament win and great start for U16w

Our season is only a few weeks old, but we are already racking up the successes. While Andi Ulmer & Co are busy taking win after win to start the season with, our young hopefuls are also hitting the headlines for similar reasons!

Coup in Stuttgart

What a great success for the Red Bull Football Academy U15! In the prestigious 2023 Porsche Football Cup, the proteges of coach Wilko Bauer made it to the final - where the youngsters of our co-operation partner also saw off hosts VfB Stuttgart in front of 1,300 fans and the Sport1 TV cameras. The 2-0 win was sealed thanks to a brace from Arion Selimi, captain of our Young Bulls and Player of the Tournament. Bauer's boys really stepped up as the tournament went on, losing 0-1 in the opening game against Erzgebirge Aue before taking wins over Borussia Mönchengladbach (3-2), Bayern Munich (5-0) and VfL Wolfsburg in the semi-finals (3-0).

Game, set and match for our U16 girls

Our U16w team also enjoyed an extremely successful opening match! The girls coped with everything the U14 boys of FC Pinzgau Saalfelden threw at them to take a superb 6-2 win, with substitute Kiara-Sonea Pachinger opening the scoring (28'). Valentina Akrap (33'), Christina Maierhofer (40'), captain Sara Grabovac (37' pen) and Julia Grünwald (47', 58') netted the remaining goals. The girls were given a deserved weekend off before they start the U14-1. Sparkassenliga at home against FC Puch (15:00 CET).

ÖFB Youth League successes

The other academy teams also enjoyed success with the football of tomorrow! The Young Bulls began their ÖFB youth league campaign last week with a triple at WAC. The U18 led by Daniel Beichler took a 6-1 win at WAC while the U16 and U15 – in a warm-up for the Porsche Fußball Cup – took 2-1 wins against their counterparts.
