A total of 38 female players came to the first trial day at the Red Bull Academy in Liefering aiming to make our planned U16 women's team for the 2023/34 season. It took around three hours in total for the players to have heart and kidney checks before they showed what they are capable of with various exercises and training matches.
Bernd Winkler, our head of women's football, provided a positive summary, saying:
It was an exciting day for us as we didn't quite know what to expect. I can say though that we have a lot of positive impressions already. There were quite a few promising talents at the first training session who we would like to invite to the next one too.
Next trial in March
Our next trial is planned for March. Along with the best players from the first session, new potential talents will be invited to get a chance to impress.
