Peter Gulacsi is extending his contract with the Red Bulls – which initially was dated until 2017 – for another two years until 2019. The 24-year-old Hungarian has played for Salzburg since 2013 and made 61 competitive appearances so far.
Gulacsi, who is also a part of the Hungarian national team’s squad, is delighted about the extension of his deal, saying: “Last year was the best in my career to date. That’s why I did not hesitate when the club made me an offer to extend my contract. I am really pleased to be able to remain a part of this special team.”
Cican Stankovic will also join FC Red Bull Salzburg in summer 2015. The 21-year-old is currently goalkeeper of local rivals SV Scholz Grödig and is to join the Red Bulls after the end of the current season. The 186-cm tall Austrian under-21 international goalkeeper has signed a contract running until 2020.
Cican Stankovic says on the move: “I am really pleased that I will soon be able to play for a real top club with such big ambitions. My goal is to become number one at Red Bull Salzburg of course. I will start to prepare for that right away and I will continue to give everything at Grödig – in every training session and every match.”
Sporting director Ralf Rangnick says on the new situation: “Peter Gulacsi has developed very well since joining us and is a vital component of our team. We are also pleased to have signed one of the most-coveted young Austrian talents in the goalkeeping position with Cican Stankovic. He has continually developed in the last few years and attracted attention with consistently good performances. It is great that he sees himself with us despite having offers from abroad. With these deals we have top quality in the goalkeeping position and are set up very well for the long term.”
