"90 minutes of full intensity"

Noah Okafor matchday interview

Noah Okafor has settled in well in salzburg in a short period of time. he has scored two goals since the restart to help us to win the cup and take three points in our first league match back. he tells us in an interview that he would be very happy to carry on like this.

Noah, the cup win and the victory against Rapid in the league made for a great restart for us. How is the atmosphere in the team?

"Very good. It is a reward for all the hard weeks of training, which weren't always easy. No we know that they paid off."

You got on the scoresheet in both the cup and the league. How have you managed to make such a good start?

"I hadn't imagined that it would go well so soon after my arrival. The first half year was intended to be an acclimatisation phase. I definitely have to work on my fitness a little bit too. The quicker everything falls into place, the better though."

How would you explain it to Jesse Marsch if you don't score in the next match?

"[Laughs]. It's all down to playing time. I started once, and the second time I came off the substitutes' bench. I will keep on making a claim for myself, but I don't need any excuses if I don't score for once."

You have played up front and in attacking midfield already. What is your favourite position in the Marsch system?

"I can play both. Our strikers have to be able to play at a high tempo. I have spent most of my career playing in attacking midfield, so this position is a little easier for me at the moment."

Hartberg beat LASK in their last match. Should we be on alert?

"Yes, but we have to do that against any opponent. We always have to be ready right from the start. If we keep our intensity for the full 90 minutes again, we can put in another good performance."
