The draw has decided our fate! Associazione Sportiva Roma, AS Roma, are to face our boys in the play-off round for the UEFA Europa League last 16. What are the club from the Italian capital all about? We took a look in order to get our minds in gear for the meeting in the middle of February!

Boss: Jose Mourinho. Squad value: a cool 400 million Euro. Top stars: Creative engine Paulo Dybala, European champion Leonardo Spinazzola and Nicolo Zaniolo, winning goalscorer in the 2022 UEFA Europa Conference League final v Feyenoord. I Giallorossi are to visit Austria as reigning Conference League champions.

views on the europa league draw

Roma have a bit of lost local proud to mourn in the meantime, with Roma recently beaten by rivals Lazio 0-1. Mourinho & Co are right at the business end of the table, however. They are currently sixth in Serie A, within touching distance of second. They have a very respectable average of 1.92 points so far this season.

3 time Italian champions

The Romans have not been earning any laurels in Europe so far this season. They struggled in their UEFA Europa League group with Betis Sevilla, Ludogorets Razgrad and HJK Helsinki. A fortunate 3-1 win at home to the Bulgarians was needed to secure their progression.

A big factor in ensuring their progression was the support of their fans at the Stadio Olympico, also known as the Viale dei Gladiatori – Gladiator Ally. Around 60,000 Roma supporters regular descend on there to cheer on their boys. Our team can therefore look forward to another great away day with our fans. Needless to say, there is also going to be an electric atmosphere in store at the Red Bull Arena on 16 February (kick-off at 18:45 CET).

Tickets for the first leg in Salzburg are available from next week. Our motto of loyalty pays will operate again, with season-ticket holders and anyone purchasing a 2023 spring season ticket.
