It isn't just the league title that is coming back to Salzburg! Two very special Bundesliga honours are to be presented to two of our players after our match against Austria Klagenfurt. The presidents, managers and coaches of the clubs of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga have voted Philipp Köhn Goalkeeper of the Season and Nicolas Seiwald Player of the Season.
Our Swiss goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in 16 matches this season, and was a superb backstop to our side in all 30 matches, having not missed a single minute of action.
It is fantastic to be able to complete a long and difficult season in this way. It may be my honour, but so many people in the team and the support staff have contributed to it. It feels really good that this is being honoured.
Nici Seiwald, who has made 29 Bundesliga appearances - scoring three goals and providing two assists - is also delighted about the award:
I am really delighted and pleased about the honour. It is a fantastic testament to my hard work over the whole season, but also the performance of everyone as a team. To be able to end my time at FC Red Bull Salzburg like this is just incredible.
