Yasin Pehlivan is now a FC Red Bull Salzburg player. The 26-year-old Austrian has been training with FC Red Bull Salzburg since the start of the week, and the club have now signed a one-year contract, with an option of two further years, with the player.
The midfielder recently finished his contract with Turkish club Kayseri Erciyesspor and joins on a free transfer.
Pehlivan has made 17 appearances for the Austrian national team, and also has 62 Austrian Bundesliga appearances and 60 games in the Turkish top flight to his name. Pehlivan has also made 29 Europa League appearances.
Christoph Freund, Salzburg’s head of football, says on the new signing:
Yasin is fit and has a lot of experience, both in Austria and internationally. He is a player who takes on responsibility and pushes those around him on. He will definitely do us a lot of good.
Yasin Pehlivan is looking forward to his new challenge, saying:
I have been following Red Bull Salzburg closely in the past few years and seen how the club has performed in Austria and Europe. That has really impressed me. I am proud and happy to be a part of that and be able to help in achieving these big aims here again.
